It has been a while .....

A quick post today to share a couple of special cards that I've made recently for friends .....

Here is a special card for a dear friend to help her celebrate a "big" birthday - I used an 8" x 8" card base and the Daisy Delight and Butterfly Basics stamp sets by Stampin' Up! using Dapper Denim and Garden Green classic ink pads and Large Number Framelits using some of the Bermuda Bay Glimmer paper left over from SAB for the numbers.

This is such a lovely layout and my friend loved her card.

The next cards are for another dear friend who celebrated her 1st wedding anniversary today. I love how the cards turned out and so did she!

The first uses the Hardwood background stamp, one of the Sweet & Sassy framelits. I used the retired Itty Bitty flower punch and the So in Love stamp set for the sentiment.  The second card uses Number of Years and Bloomin Love stamp sets and Layering Oval framelits. The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

That's all for now! Click here if you'd like to browse round my Stampin’ Up On-line store,

Flower Shop and Butterfly Basics - classic stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

The first stamp set I bought when I became a UK Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator was Flower Shop Wood-Mount Stamp Set which has a matching Pansy Punch.  There are six lovely flower stamps in the set and I love them all.

Here is another card we made at my card classes last week.

Supplies:-

Melon Mambo cardstock
Whisper White cardstock
Vellum Cardstock
Flower Shop Wood-Mount Stamp Set
Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set
Versamark pad
Brights Stampin' Write Markers
Old Olive Classic Stampin' pad
White Stampin' Emboss Powder
Pansy Punch
Pretty Label punch
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin' Dimensionals
Pearl basic Jewels

At first it was a real challenge to line up the stamped flowers with the punch but after watching a YouTube video and speaking to my lovely Up-Line, Victoria, she helped me work out how to mark the wooden blocks to make it easy peasy to stamp and line up every time. You can see how I marked up my blocks below.

I have lots of other examples but I won't show them to you now as I'm trying to keep my posts shorter - hahaha! I will just share a couple of 3D frames I've made where I've used Flower Shop.

This frame was made back in 2015 when I became a demonstrator with a couple of other sets that retired earlier this year. I still have Flowering Flourishes, Petite Petals and Papillon Potpourri on my shelf to play with when I get nostalgic!

The words are made up with Scrabble letters and is the Stampin' Up! tagline INSPIRE. CREATE. SHARE. which is something I try to remember when I'm struggling with my creative mojo.

The frame now hangs on the wall in my craft space so I can see it as I create, video, prep for class etc and I'm really pleased with it not least because it makes me realise how far I've come if that makes sense?

This frame was made for my best friend's birthday last year.  I made all the flowers dimensional. I punched several flowers, wet and scrunched them up and then let them dry before layering them.

I didn't take any photos when I  made the frame so think that is something I will do one of these days so I can share what they look like.

Beautiful You by Stampin' Up!

I fell in love with the Beautiful You Clear- Mount stamp set when I saw it at my first Stampin' Up On Stage in November last year.

I especially like the sentiment "Life may not be the party we had hoped for, but while we're here, we might as well dance." The whole stamp set has an artistic feel with lots of lovely sentiments in a lovely font and is, in my humble opinion, a must have set.

This simple card is one we made at my card class last week.

The sentiment and lady were stamped using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink Pad, on Crumb Cake cardstock and colour added with several of the Watercolour Pencils. As I love a bit of sparkle, who doesn't, I used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the dress and hat.

The stamped matting layer is cut at 10 x 14.3cm and is added to a standard A6 Crumb Cake card base.

To add a bit of interest, I decided to round the corners on the right hand side of the card base and matting layer using a We Are Memory Keepers Corner Chomper. I like to do this as it adds something a little different. The inside sentiment is again stamped in Momento ink on to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut to 10 x 14.3cm.

Here are two other cards made using this wonderful stamp set. I'm sure you've seen lots of other examples. I know I will enjoy using this set for years to come.

Get Well card - Emboss Resist Technique

Happy Saturday folks

I've been a busy bee this week running two card classes. I had four ladies come to class on Thursday evening and one this morning. I was a little nervous about Thursday evening as I had never met three of the ladies but there was no need to fret as they were all absolutely lovely.

I worried about overwhelming my new ladies, because we used four different stamp sets, velum cardstock, designer series paper, watercolour pencils, DSP as well as dry and heat embossing. One lady had never done any cardmaking before but I can honestly say everyone did an amazing job!

My video today shows one of the cards we made using the Hopeful Thoughts Clear Mount Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Supplies
Whisper White Thick Cardstock measuring 21 x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm
Whisper White cardstock measuring 10 x 14.3 cm for matting layer plus scrap for sentiment
Hopeful Thoughts Clear Mount Stamp Set
Embossing Buddy
Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder
Versamark
Powder Pink Classic Stampin' Pad
Fresh Fig Classic Stampin' Pad
Iridescent Sequin Assortment
Banner Triple Punch
Simply Scored
Heat Tool
Stampin' Dimensionals
Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Rub embossing buddy across cardstock. Stamp image twice down the left hand side of cardstock in Versamark. Pour embossing powder over the stamped images and tap off excess to pour back into container. Heat with a heat tool until it melts / turns glossy. Add ink using a sponge dauber. Create a border by dry embossing two lines on each edge of the cardstock using the Simply Scored tool. Stamp sentiment in Versamark and cover with embossing powder. Heat emboss and add ink as above. Trim to required size and add with dimensionals. Adhere sequins as required. The sentiment inside is stamped in Fresh Fig.  Such a pretty card don't you think?

Here are all the cards we made at class.

Over the next few days, I'll post details.

Blooms and Wishes with 2017-19 In-Colours !!

Hi folks

I will show you the rest of the cards from the all-inclusive Soft Sayings Card Kit but today I wanted to share a couple of cards made using Blooms & Wishes stamps, I'm so glad this set carried over from our last annual catalogue as it is one of my favourites - I feel like I say that with every stamp set but doesn't every lady love flowers!

Both are CAS cards - clean and simple!

The first is inspired by the card on page 23 of our current annual catalogue - I just updated the colours, added some embellishments and a sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set using the new Pretty Label punch (but in all honesty I only added the sentiment to cover a smudge!)

Supply list:-

Blooms & Wishes Photopolymer stamp set
Tempting Turquoise cardstock base cut at 14.8 x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
Whisper White cardstock cut at 14.3 x 10cm
Classic Stampin' Pads in Tempting Turquoise, Flirty Flamingo, Fresh Fig, Berry Burst and Old Olive
Flirty Flamingo Baker's Twine
Flourishing Phrases Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Pretty Label Punch
2" (5.1cm) Circle Punch
White Perfect Accents
Pearl Basic Jewels
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush
Stampin' Dimensionals

For the second card, I masked off an area with a strip of sticky note before stamping the smaller images from the stamp set. To finish off I heat embossed a sentiment from Dragonfly Dreams stamp set in silver embossing powder, added a few embellishments and a bit of glitter using clear Wink of Stella.

Supply list:-

Blooms & Wishes Photopolymer stamp set
Whisper White cardstock base cut at 29.7 x 10.5cm scored at 14.8cm and a matting layer cut at 14.3 x 10cm
Classic Stampin' Pads in Fresh Fig, Berry Burst, Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist
Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Stamp Set
Versamark Pad
Silver Stampin' Embossing Powder
White Perfect Accents
Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

4 cards from the Soft Sayings Card Kit from Stampin' Up!

Hi folks

Hope your weeks are going well so far.

As promised, I wanted to share with you some of the cards that come in the amazing Soft Sayings Card Kit from Stampin' Up!

The kit comes with instructions for assembly with photo's which I've followed as closely as I can. I separated all the elements so assembling the cards was fairly quick and easy. All I needed to add from my stash of craft supplies was my favourite liquid glue! Here are close ups which show the gorgeous gold glimmer elements.

I've also uploaded a video on my YouTube channel - 273 followers - how amazing is that!

A quick introduction to the Soft Sayings Card Kit from Stampin' Up!

Hi friends

Something a little different from me today. I wanted to share a quick video introducing one of the amazing card kits from Stampin' Up!

The Soft Sayings All-Inclusive Card Kit is fantastic value at £31.50, which makes it easy to create a stack of cards with this all-inclusive kit. It comes with everything you need to make 20 cards - 2 each of 10 designs. The kit includes the Soft Sayings Stamp Set, which has 15 photopolymer stamps, a clear stamp block, 20 card bases (in 3 different sizes) plus co-ordinating printed envelopes. There are some lovely die-cut accents, a Stampin' Spot, some Bakers's Twine, washi tape, Stampin' Dimensionals and a gorgeous giftable kraft box.

Just add your choice of adhesive and you are ready to go. There also very clear instructions so you can make the suggested cards or you can use the elements to create your own designs!

You can even buy a refill for £19.00 so you can make another 20 cards using the stamp set and ink from the original kit.  I just love it!

Over the coming week I will show  how quick and simple it is to make the cards from the kit as well as my own.

Just click on the highlighted links if you'd like to look at the products on-line at my Stampin' Up! On-line store.
